Photo Album – what it is?

The definition of photo albums has changed over the ages. Let us throw some light on how a Photo Album has evolved over the years. Few decades ago, when we talked about photo albums, it used to be a hard bound compartment where photos can be slipped into. A classical Photo Album had heavy paper with abrasive surface covered with clear plastic sheets, in which photos can be put. Older style photo albums were just simply books of heavy paper where photos can be glued or attached to with help of some adhesives at the corners or in the middle.

The classical concept of a Photo Album is almost extinct. Now with the advent of various software like Photoshop, photoscape etc. everybody maintains their albums in their computers in the form of softcopy. The soft copies of the photos have many advantages. These can be modified or cropped using various software and also easily upload these photos in various social networking sites and boast of your status to your friends and relatives no matter in which part of the universe they are. Now there are options of photo albums in very popular networking sites like Facebook, Orkut, and Twitter etc. which also showcase your pictures to the world.
